QSIA’s Roadmap to Getting a Job in Social Impact

By: Alix Karsh - Professional Development Coordinator

So you’ve decided you want to work in social impact this upcoming summer, but do you know how to properly prepare for your job search? Between researching different companies, updating your resume, and interview prep, the application process can be quite overwhelming! That’s why QSIA is hosting a variety of events this semester to ensure that you get a job offer!

1. QSIA’s case competition will provide practical experience in social impact consulting that you can include on your resume when applying for job opportunities. This year, C4C will be held virtually on February 6th and will be assisting Sustainable Kingston to solve some of their most significant business problems.

2. Attend Our Social Impact Hiring Workshop

QSIA and Kelly James from the CAC will be hosting a workshop to help you find social impact job opportunities, rework your resume, and get practice with mock interview questions that are specifically relevant to this industry.

3. Participate in Our Annual Speaker’s Series

Through QSIA’s Speaker Series, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with professionals in the social impact sector. In doing so, you can create lasting connections with individuals in the social impact industry who can support you through your job search!

By attending these events, you will obtain experience and knowledge that is relevant to the social impact sector, preparing you for the job-hiring process. Be sure to keep an eye out for application forms on our social media channels throughout the semester and best of luck in your job search!
